How We Got Started
Boynton Guns was born during the COVID-19 lockdown out of necessity.
In 2020, founder Frank J. Latella was operating a self-defense gym called Strength 4 Combat. When gyms were forced to close because they were deemed “non-essential,” Frank—who was already a firearm instructor—continued working with his students by taking them to the shooting range, one of the few businesses that remained open.
After returning home one day, Frank began researching how to open a gun store. His goal was simple: create a business that could continue serving the community even if future lockdowns occurred.
Within two months, Frank obtained his Federal Firearms License (FFL), and Boynton Guns was born.
Initially, Boynton Guns operated out of the Strength 4 Combat training center, primarily serving gym members and referred customers. We soon attended our first gun show at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, where we officially began advertising Boynton Guns to the public.
The response was incredible. Many people were excited to hear that a new local gun shop was opening in the area, and our customer base quickly grew.
By 2023, Boynton Guns had outgrown its original space. We moved into a larger unit within the same plaza, giving us room to expand our products, services, and training opportunities.
Today, we're proud of how far we've come—and we're just getting started.
